Multi-User Classroom Environment in Virtual Reality : Creating and Implementing new Features
Abstract: A research group from Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå is working to create a virtual reality classroom to be used for educational purposes in mining education. In this classroom, a teacher should be able to hold a lesson for their students in an intuitive and pleasant way. In this part of the project I have focused on implementing functionality to the classroom with the help of the game engine Unity. The result is a program where a teacher now can create a virtual classroom that students can connect to. User test have been performed to verify the user-friendliness of the program, which showed, that the classroom was functionable and that it did not cause any feeling of motion sickness, known as cybersickness.
