Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to discover students’ opinions of e-learning, which is an alternative to traditional classroom teaching and learning.  The research was done because, with the advancement in technology there are tools provided to make e-learning possible, hence the need to know what students make of the idea of e-learning, as they are the target and the main beneficiaries of this technology enabled learning.  The research data was collected at Ho Polytechnic, Ghana, with 80 questionnaires. The results of the research show that majority of the students think e-learning is an innovative idea and must be encouraged, however, few concerns such as the fear of employers’ discrimination against those who study through e-learning were discovered.  It was also realised that hybrid learning, which is a combination of online learning and face-to-face learning, is the preferred mode of learning for the respondents. The researcher recommends that as students prefer hybrid learning, educational institutions in Ghana should make more effort to invest in tools that make e-learning possible, and not to be opening satellite campuses all over the country as is currently the case.
