Towards enhancing perceived performance through adoption of proposed benchmarking techniques
Abstract: Despite the vast abundance of embedded/mobiledevices being released every day only a minority ofthose gain enough momentum to secure mainstreamadoption, let alone market domination. User experi-ence and user perceived performance are taking anincreasingly substantial stake in a successful productlaunch. In this paper, we present the results from astudy of user perceived performance. Further, in thisdesign oriented study we have applied benchmarkingbody of knowledge to develop a representative bench-mark that assesses the end-user experience. Weconclude that implementation of proposed techniquesallows for repeatable, structured and systematic ap-proach in user perceived performance testing, thus,potentially creating cost savings for the companyand enhancing user perceived performance, whichin turn leads to strengthening of the market position.
