Resolution for dynamic configuration of consumer placed equipment
Abstract: Networking devices and other internet-enabled hardware require configuration to work correctly and manually configuring each and every device is expensive and slow. In order to relieve these problems, the concept of automatic configuration was conceived. For this to be possible, a device must be able to not only find the location of the host keeping the configuration but also negotiate how the configuration will take place. In this paper, two new protocols are proposed to resolve configuration servers for the device to negotiate with and the negotiation protocol to arrange the actual configuration procedure. Additionally a business model is presented in order to structure and maintain the system supplementing existing production and sales.
