Biologisk mångfald i privatträdgårdar : även en liten trädgård kan bidra!
Abstract: The southwestern parts of Sweden has previously been composed by beech forest, flowering meadows and grasslands. Nowadays, the landscape consists mostly of large agricultural communities. Places where a variety of flowers, bumblebees and bees used to thrive have become farmlands. This means that habitats have disappeared and many of our pollinators are currently on the verge of extinction. This work is about how our small gardens could become a sanctuary for pollinators in a heavily exploited agricultural society. The job is also about how garden engineers, landscape architects and others professions that designs and plans gardens, through our work can benefit pollinators when making prioritizations for a small area. An obligation and a responsibility that we cannot ignore regardless of the size of the area. Through a literature study, conversation / interview and field study, a number of important aspects have been developed that have resulted in a checklist. A list that will help us in our profession to include all aspects that favours pollinators in the gardens that we design. Using the checklist will also help the pollinators with food and nesting as well as contributing to biodiversity.
