A case study of the social construction of a Green discourse

Abstract: This master thesis focuses on understanding the construction of an environmentaldiscourse and its driving forces. It makes use of Social Constructionism theory,Symbolic Interactionism and Foucault’s perspective on discourse and power tounderstand the dynamic of a corporation’s environmental discourse and society. Theanalysis of the empirical data has shown that society plays an important role on theconstruction of business’s environmental discourses, which make both society andcompanies responsible for improving business practices regarding the environment.
