Icelandic Northern Light Rooms

Abstract: This project proposes a design of dwelling for visitors and locals, who wants to enjoy one of earths beautiful phenomena, in this case the northern lights. The dwelling is located near the lake Mývatn. The framework is based on the theory of nding the common denominator between the natural elements and tectonics of architecture, by focusing on how we experience architecture in the relation and dialog with wild nature. By giving the audience most of the architectural qualities that built space can offer in the conversation with nature and its surroundings. The idea of the proposal is under the in uence of being “Between earth and sky”. Most of the travellers visit to enjoy the nature around Mývatn and to see the northern lights. Although, there should be ways to experience the nature by creating a certain atmosphere with the use of architectural approach.
