Abstract: The insurance industry has been up to date in the media several of times since it has been recognized that insurance intermediaries is unnecessary and that the industry only exists to make money. Seeing as there are just a few people in the society who uses insurance intermediaries. This is the reason behind the fact that a lot of people instead choose to listen to the media's view of the insurance industry. In this study, we will see through the perspective of the insurance intermediaries’ and they will tell us how they experience the situation. This study aims to investigate unbound insurance intermediary’s responsibility when it comes to financial literacy and their work on sustainability. The purpose of this study is to examine the asymmetry in financial literacy between insurance intermediaries and policyholders, and to study how insurance intermediaries communicate sustainability. The study will also examine how the asymmetry in financial literacy affects how insurance intermediaries communicate financial information. The conclusion indicates that insurance intermediaries are responsible of informing the customer in a way that is understandable for the customer since the great knowledge advantage. This is controlled in different ways. The legitimacy of insurance intermediaries is established and strengthened by working with the customer in focus; what needs there are and how best to satisfy them. Compensation neutrality also contributes to making the commission look the same regardless of the insurance that is recommended. The topic of sustainability is often brought up not only by the insurance intermediaries but also by the customers during counselling situations.
