Urbaniseringens efterlämningar : hur gestaltar vi avbefolkningsorternas torg?

University essay from SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

Abstract: This bachelor thesis discusses topics such as the rural population and its economic sanctions, the town square as a phenomenon and vegetative materials for northern climate in order to compile a design proposal for Kramfors town square based on the literature studies theories and my own observations. We often get enlighten by the urbanization and its affects in larger cities. The consequences of the urbanization for rural areas are rarely noticed, which are the foundation of this paper. The problem adopts a perspective from the northern point of view which means that more than just the population issue must be considered, such as climate and hardiness. The reason why this paper has received this specific focus is based on my own references and experiences though I am born and raised in Kramfors, Västernorrland county. With a conscious design and a hardy and well- adapted plant material, the ambition has been to create a place where people want to be kept and with a desired outcome of increased trading, a sense of security and social interaction in the city of Kramfors.
