Usability evaluation of a visualization system for urologists

University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

Abstract: Urologists, researchers and statisticians work with a centralized database in Stockholm containing more than two million prostate cancer patient records. In order to expedite the analytical process, an interactive visualization system was developed through the collaboration of Janssen and KTH. The usability of the system was measured in terms of efficiency and satisfaction. The efficiency of the system was evaluated by measuring task-time and the number of errors per task, and the satisfaction of the user was evaluated using well-established questionnaires. Through this usability evaluation, the system was evaluated as easy to use and understand.
