  1. 1. Construction and evaluation of a lossless image format, Carbonara

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Viktor Rösler; [2023]
    Keywords : Data Compression; Image Compression; Image Format; Software Development;

    Abstract : High-speed laser triangulation 3D cameras, such as the Ranger3 from SICK, transmit image data to a PC for processing. The camera’s operational speed is constrained by the capabilities of the transmission link. By compressing the data, the bandwidth requirements of the camera is reduced. READ MORE

  2. 2. Multi-camera system for close-up supervision in test-fixtures using openCV and optics

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Henrik Liljefors; [2023]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The test-fixture is a device used for testing of electronic circuits in production, that is produced by the Lund based company mikrodust AB. In the test-fixture, cameras are both used for supervision of products-in-testing and in the products themselves. READ MORE

  3. 3. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 4. 4. Particle Detection in Bone Marrow Using CNNs and Transformer Networks

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Anna Källén; Marcus Williams; [2023]
    Keywords : Bone Marrow; Dark Field Microscopy; Fourier Ptychography; Machine Learning; Convolutional Neural Networks; Transformer Networks; Quantisation; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The critical role of hematological stem cells, concentrated in bone marrow, in disease diagnosis makes the detection of these cells an imperative task. The current process, however, is slow and heavily reliant on expert interpretation, underscoring the need for automation. READ MORE

  5. 5. The influence of neural network-based image enhancements on object detection

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Eric Pettersson; Muhammed Al Khayyat; [2023]
    Keywords : Object detection; YOLO; image enhancement; ESRGAN; Zero-DCE;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the impact of image enhancement techniques on object detection for carsin real-world traffic scenarios. The study focuses on upscaling and light correction treatments andtheir effects on detecting cars in challenging conditions. Initially, a YOLOv8x model is trained on clear static car images. READ MORE
