  1. 1. Signatures of Dark Matter at the LHC : A phenomenological study combining collider and cosmological bounds to constrain a vector dark matter particle model

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Author : Anton Olsson; [2022]
    Keywords : Dark matter; particle phenomenology; LHC; MadGraph; standard model; beyond standard model;

    Abstract : Everything that humans have ever touched, created or built something from consists of a type of matter that only makes up 15 percent of the total matter in the universe. The remaining 85 percent is attributed to dark matter, a so far not discovered and non-luminous type of matter. READ MORE

  2. 2. Studies of Dark Showers for Present and Future Colliders

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Nicoline Krogh Hemme; [2022]
    Keywords : high-energy particle physics; dark matter; collider physics; beyond the standard model; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this work we explore a strongly-interacting dark sector with a Z’ portal to the Standard Model. We focus on the dark shower phenomenology and their semi-visible jet signatures with a strong emphasis on first principles of the theory. READ MORE

  3. 3. Searching for signatures of compositeness of the Higgs boson

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Mårten Bertenstam; [2021]
    Keywords : two-Higgs-doublet model; composite Higgs model; composite two-Higgs-doublet model; phase transition; cosmological phase transition; electroweak phase transition; gravitational waves; gravitational wave background; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this master thesis we consider some phenomenological aspects of two-Higgs-doublet models, both elementary and composite ones. The emphasis is on calculating and understanding first order phase transitions in such models, constrained to be in agreement with existing collider data on the Higgs sector. READ MORE

  4. 4. Discovery potential and characterisation of the parity properties of a new spin-0 boson at the LHC and HL-LHC.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Author : AN Di; [2020]
    Keywords : hierachy problem; beyond Standard Model physics; LHC phenomenology; HL-LHC;

    Abstract : We investigated the discovery potential and possibilities of characterizing the parity of a new spin-0 boson at LHC and HL-LHC only using di-photon channel. Our results show that it is possible to have a 5σ discovery and characterize the parity at 2σ level for given combinations of couplings and masses. .. READ MORE

  5. 5. Phenomenology of a Three Higgs Doublet Model with a U(1)xZ2 flavour symmetry

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Ian Padilla; [2019]
    Keywords : Phenomenology Physics Beyond the Standard Model Three Higgs Doublet Model Flavour Symmetry; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : We have studied the main features and the phenomenological consistency of a family-nonuniversal Three Higgs Doublet Model (3HDM) with a softly broken U(1)xZ2 family symmetry that enforces the flavour hierarchies in the Standard Model (SM) while implementing a tree-level Flavour Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) suppression in a Branco-Grimus-Lavoura way. Furthermore, the alignment limit is imposed in the scalar sector to enforce the physical scalar spectrum to accommodate a SM-like Higgs boson. READ MORE
