  1. 1. DURABILITY STUDY OF REJUVENATED RAP BINDERS

    University essay from KTH/Kemiteknik

    Author : An Na Lay; [2022]
    Keywords : RAP reclaimed asphalt pavement ; rejuvenator; bitumen; rheology; ageing; RAP; bitumen; föryngringsmedel; reologi; åldring;

    Abstract : När priset på naturtillgångar ökar samt att industrier måste ställa om till en mer hållbar verksamhet innebär detta även en omställning för asfaltsindustrin. Ett sätt för att använda mer återvunnet material i asfaltsindustri är att använda bindemedlet från gammal asfaltsmassa (eng.: reclaimed asphalt pavement, RAP). READ MORE

  2. 2. Low-carbon hydrogen production from waste plastics via pyrolysis and in-line catalytic cracking process

    University essay from KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Author : Yanghao Jin; [2022]
    Keywords : Pyrolysis; catalytic cracking; plastics recycling; biochar catalyst; hydrogen production; Pyrolys; katalytisk krackning; återvinning av plast; biokol; produktion av väte;

    Abstract : This study develops a novel pyrolysis process combined with in-line catalytic reforming toproduce high purity hydrogen and carbon products from waste plastics. The input resource is waste plastic material in the form of discarded Covid masks. READ MORE

  3. 3. Insights into the burning behaviour of wood in the cone calorimeter

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Ellinor Sanned; [2022]
    Keywords : Wood combustion; fire test; cone calorimetry; heat release rate; char formation;

    Abstract : Climate change and its accompanying environmental issues have caused the building industry to use more environmentally friendly building materials. Wood have always been a buildingmaterial but due to the renewed interest in imparting sustainability and renewability, its usage has increased over the recent years. READ MORE

  4. 4. Reinforced Concrete Structures Subjected to Imposed Deformations: A Study of Cracking due to Shrinkage in Slab Foundations for Residential Houses

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för bygg- och miljöteknologi

    Author : Henrik Johansson; Martin Heinegård; [2020]
    Keywords : Reinforced concrete structures; nonlinear finite element analysis; crack widths; imposed deformations; shrinkage; foundation slabs; fracture mechanics; Atena 2D; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The need for limiting crack widths in reinforced concrete structures is due to durability, tightness towards gaseous and liquid substances, and for aesthetic reasons. Although concrete cracks at relatively low tensile stresses and can not be avoided, strategies for crack control can be adopted to meet the requirements. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling the Production of Biofuels via Olefins Oligomerisation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Nima Mirzaei; [2020]
    Keywords : Biofuels; Mathematical Modelling; Process Simulation; Oligomerisation; Fischer-Tropsch; Biobränslen; Matematisk Modellering; Process Simulering; Oligomerisering; Fischer-Tropsch;

    Abstract : The technical feasibility of gasoline and diesel range hydrocarbons production through oligomerisation of olefins, starting from biomass with the intermediary steps of gasfication, water-gas shift reaction and syngas-to-olefins synthesis was investigated, through mathematical modelling and simulation on Matlab. The model for the gasifier was based on minimisation of Gibbs free energy and its results showed that higher carbon efficiencies could be achieved at lower pressures and steam inlet, and more inlet energy, by pre-heating the gasifying agents.
