  1. 1. Implementation of Dyson equation to accelerate convergence in RS-LMTO-ASA code

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Materialteori

    Author : Elis Uebel; Viktor Frilén; [2024]
    Keywords : Density functional theory; Dyson equation;

    Abstract : First-principle calculations is a key ingredient for us to understand, improve and design new materials. Density functional theory (DFT) [1] has proven to be a very powerful tool and a number of different versions exist depending on the problem at hand. READ MORE

  2. 2. Full Configuration Interaction Model for 1-D Quantum System

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Adam Asaad; [2022]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The many-body problem is one of the most challenging problems in physics due to the complexity emerging from the interactions of many quantum particles. Since the advent of computers with increasing power, computational methods have been very successful in providing insight and precise solutions to this problem. READ MORE

  3. 3. Time-resolved x-ray diffraction study of longitudinal optical phonons in zincblende semiconductors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Lassi Linnala; [2022]
    Keywords : femtosecond THz radiation; ultrafast x-ray diffraction; pump-probe; longitudinal optical phonons; zincblende semiconductors; anharmonic decay; density functional perturbation theory; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Anharmonic decay of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons in zincblende semiconductors is not at present well characterized due to the polar and many-body nature of the problem. Femtosecond THz radiation offers a novel route to this study, as the interaction of this radiation is directly with the phonon lattice and these THz excited phonons do not have enough energy to excite electrons over the band gap. 4. 4. Quantum thermodynamics explorations with a Hubbard-Holstein dimer

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Emil Adam Jonatan Östberg; [2021]
    Keywords : QTD Quantum Thermodynamics Hubbard-Holstein Hubbard Holstein dimer Lanczos Suzuki-Trotter ST Exact diagonalization ED Hysteresis Path dependence Battery Mott-insulator; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The goal of this project is to characterize the quantum thermodynamics of a Hubbard-Holstein dimer. We explore how the standard formalism of quantum thermodynamics behaves in the context many-body physics. READ MORE

  5. 5. Exact eigenstates of the Inozemtsev spin chain

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Simon Lentz; [2021]
    Keywords : Theoretical physics; Mathematical physics; quantum mechanics; many-body problems; spin chain; Inozemtsev; Calogero-Sutherland; Teoretisk fysik; Matematisk fysik; kvantmekanik; mångpartikel problem; spinnkedjor; Inozemtsev; Calogero-Sutherland;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the following question: are there more eigenfunctions, other than the already known eigenfunctions, of the spin chain with elliptic interactions known as the Inozemtsev spin chain? The Inozemtsev spin chain interpolates between two quantum integrable spin chains, theHeisenberg spin chain and the Haldane-Shastry spin chain. Therefore it is interesting to explore eigenfunctions of the Inozemtsev spin chain in greater detail. READ MORE
