  1. 1. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Andreas Stokkeland; [2023]
    Keywords : Multiplicity; Multiplicity classes; Soft interactions; Quark Gluon Plasma; QGP; transverse momentum; p_T; Chi-squared; fits; fit functions; Levy; Lévy; Exponential; BGBW; Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave; Fermi-Dirac; Bose-Einstein; Boltzmann; pion; kaon; proton; transverse momentum spectra; p_T spectra; surface velocity; Minimum Bias; MB; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 2. 2. Comparing various methods for improving resource allocation on a single node cluster in Kubernetes

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Abaied Sopi; Plotoaga Andrei; [2023]
    Keywords : Kubernetes; latency-critical; resource allocation; CRI-RM; Vertical Pod Autoscaler;

    Abstract : When dealing with latency-critical applications in Kubernetes, a common strategy is to over-allocate resources to ensure the application can meet its latency guarantees during traffic surges. However, this practice often leads to resource underutilizationas the application will not fully utilize its reserved resources. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modelling and Optimisation of Relativistic Magnetron with Transparent Cathode : Applications for High-Power Microwaves

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets elektronik

    Author : David Sawert; [2023]
    Keywords : Relativistic Magnetron; RM; High-Power Microwaves; HPM; Particle-in-Cell; PIC; MAGIC3D; TE11;

    Abstract : This thesis aimed to investigate the relativistic magnetron (RM), which is a high-power microwave (HPM) source. Since the RM can generate high-intensity microwave radiation, it can be used as a pulsed electromagnetic weapon to target electronic systems in different objects, such as drones, missiles, or vehicles. 4. 4. Deterministic Performance on Kubernetes

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Chetan Kandya; [2023]
    Keywords : Kubernetes; Deterministic Performance; Core Isolation; IDO; Intent Driven Orchestration; CRI-RM; Docker; Cloud Optimization;

    Abstract : With the exponential growth of virtualization and cloud computing over the last decade, many companies in the telecommunications sector have started their journey towards cloud migration by exchanging a lot of specialized hardware for virtualized solutions. With more and more applications running in a cloud environment, it became essential to run these applications on heterogeneous systems with shared underlying hardware and software resources. 5. 5. Adaptive Comparative Judgement in Practice : A case study of the formative use of ACJ in a collaborative open-ended design project between Swedish upper primary schools under authentic classroom conditions

    University essay from KTH/Lärande

    Author : Camilla Björn; Ida Lundin; [2023]
    Keywords : Digital Assessment; Adaptive Comparative Judgement; RM Compare; Feedback; Peer Assessment; Formative Assessment; Teaching Material; STEM; Digital bedömning; Adaptiv Komparativ Bedömning; RM Compare; Återkoppling; Kamratbedömning; Formativ bedömning; Undervisningsmaterial; STEM;

    Abstract : Digital assessment has the potential to increase equity in the assessment by facilitating a smother collaboration between teachers. It also allows peer assessment between students from different classes or even schools, which allows the students to view a potentially larger and more varied set of examples of the same assignment.
