  1. 16. Increasing Reproducibility Through Provenance, Transparency and Reusability in a Cloud-Native Application for Collaborative Machine Learning

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för datorteknik

    Author : Adam Ekström Hagevall; Carl Wikström; [2021]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; MLOps; STACKn; Reproducibility; Replicability; Provenance; Transparency; Reusability; Kubernetes; Cloud-Native; Open Source; Software Engineering;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis paper was to develop new features in the cloud-native and open-source machine learning platform STACKn, aiming to strengthen the platform's support for conducting reproducible machine learning experiments through provenance, transparency and reusability. Adhering to the definition of reproducibility as the ability of independent researchers to exactly duplicate scientific results with the same material as in the original experiment, two concepts were explored as alternatives for this specific goal: 1) Increased support for standardized textual documentation of machine learning models and their corresponding datasets; and 2) Increased support for provenance to track the lineage of machine learning models by making code, data and metadata readily available and stored for future reference. 2. 17. Needs and requirements for the development and application of safe and cost-efficientmedical technology in low resource settings

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Linda Maria Nummisalo; [2020]
    Keywords : Bangladesh; Medical Devices; Health Care;

    Abstract : Growing populations and especially the growing proportion of elderly in the developing countries in South Asia pose an increasingly higher pressure on the health care systems in these countries. For example, in Bangladesh, a part of the pressure is currently eased by the unofficial health care workers called village doctors but with the cost of wrong diagnoses and unnecessary medications leading to excess use of e. 3. 18. Study of Launcher Recovery Systems

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Author : Mauro Rojas Sigala; [2020]
    Keywords : Reusability; Launcher; Propulsion;

    Abstract : The space sector has been evolving due to the fast-technological advancements generating a reduction of manufacturing, cost and size in space missions, where highly capable performing small satellites are becoming the standard in this industry. Furthermore, the high launching cost limits the trend of cost reduction for the space missions, since the small satellites are sent as a second payload. READ MORE

  4. 19. SPME Method for Chemical Analysis of Heavy Organic Trace Compounds in Synthesis Gas

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Constancia Felise Elemia Freire; Simon Edin; Chang Ho Lee; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : There currently exists no commercialized method for rapid sampling and analysis of trace tar ingas streams. Solid phase microextraction (SPME) with a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) solidphase has been previously investigated as a possible candidate due to its solvent-free natureand reusability. READ MORE

  5. 20. Propellant Feeding System of a Liquid Rocket With Multiple Engines

    University essay from KTH/Rymdteknik

    Author : Valentin Miquel; [2020]
    Keywords : Multiengine Feeding System;

    Abstract : Multiengine first stages are the new trend in recent rockets. Reusability and an oxygen/methane based engine complete this picture. ArianeGroup wants to develop its own rocket following these principles. This thesis presents the study of the feeding system for a seven Prometheus engine rocket. READ MORE
