  1. 16. Mathematical Modeling and Simulation of Cryogenic Liquid Hydrogen Storage

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Gusten Zandler Andersson; [2023]
    Keywords : Modeling; Simulation; Liquid Hydrogen; Storage tank; Modelica; Chemical engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Liquid hydrogen is an attractive alternative to fossil fuels in the aviation industry, but storing it both before and during flights introduces many challenges pertaining to the cryogenic liquid conditions required. Having reliable models to predict the dynamical behavior inside the storage tank is therefore of great interest. READ MORE

  2. 17. Optimizing Conditions of Coagulation for Removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM) : Comparison of Removal Efficiency of NOM When Using Bench-Scale Inline Coagulation Over Ultrafiltration and Classical Jar Tests

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Author : Hiwa Oveisy; [2023]
    Keywords : drinking water; in-line coagulation; inline coagulation; jar test; membrane filtration; NOM removal; treatment; ultrafiltration; behandling; dricksvatten; inlinekoagulering; krusprov; membranfiltrering; NOM-borttagning; onlinekoagulering; ultrafiltrering;

    Abstract : Abstract The removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM) from water supplies is crucial for the provision of clean, safe drinking water. Lab-scale experiments have been extensively utilized in water treatment facilities to optimize this process. The most used lab-scale method is known as jar test. READ MORE

  3. 18. Study on Decolorization of Reactive-dyed Cotton through Fenton-oxidation as a Pre-treatment for Textile Recycling

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Elise Meurs; [2023]
    Keywords : Fenton-oxidation; advanced oxidation processes; decolorization; textile recycling; cotton; reactive dye;

    Abstract : In this master thesis, the feasibility of Fenton-oxidation for the decolorization of reactive dyed cotton is investigated as a potentially environmental-friendly preparatory treatment for mechanical/chemical recycling. Raw, knitted cotton is dyed with a black and a blue dye, whereafter preliminary tests are performed to investigate the influence of increasing Fenton- solution concentrations and different iron-sources on the efficiency of the discoloration, without carrying out complete optimization of the process-parameters. 4. 19. Constraining the Higgs width in Higgs production associated with a top quark pair

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Benjamin Dahlén; [2023]
    Keywords : Higgs; width; cross section; on-shell; off-shell; invariant mass; Standard model; upper bound; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis we study the width of the Higgs boson in the process pp → t ̄t 4l at LO using MadGraph5_aMC@NLO to generate the events. The contributions including the Higgs signal, continuum background and interference were considered in order to calculate the expected number of events in a broad range of four-lepton invariant masses. 5. 20. Impact of Implementing CCS Technology on a Biomass Power Plant

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Author : Azin Mohebbi; [2023]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This study examines the implementation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, specifically the monoethanolamine (MEA) chemical absorption method, in a biomass power plant. The aim is to assess the energy requirements and optimize the solvent processes to improve the overall efficiency of the carbon capture process. READ MORE
