  1. 1. Organising the internal transport to increase lift trucks utilisation : A case study at a large manufacturing company

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik, konst och samhälle

    Author : Meron Ogbatzion; [2022]
    Keywords : Internal transport; Lift trucks; Material handling; Lean; Transport waste; Time study;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the internal transport of a case company and develop a new approach to increase the utilisation rate of their lift trucks. The case study was conducted at a large manufacturing company in southern Sweden and limited to two of their production facilities, denoted PVT and Tage, with a total of 27 lift trucks. READ MORE

  2. 2. Adaptive Systems to Reduce the Material Cost of Structures

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Byggnadsmekanik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för byggvetenskaper

    Author : Erik Lundin; [2022]
    Keywords : Adaptive; structure; material economy.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Adaptive structures adapt to the changing circumstances in their environment using sensors and actuators, they may for example change their shape to be optimised for a specific load case when that load case is present. The building industry need to reduce its climate impact, low-carbon solutions are in demand. READ MORE

  3. 3. Complex Multiplicative Calculus and Mixed Problems

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH; Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten)

    Author : Axel Lokrantz; [2022]
    Keywords : multiplicative integrals; multiplicative calculus; product integrals; geometric mean; continuous geometric mean; geometric mean of non-negative random variables; inequality of arithmetic and geometric means; A_G-G_A inequality; generalized Hölder s inequality; multiplicative vector spaces; multiplicative function spaces; exponential transition functor; logarithmic Riemann surface; lift; function lift; projection; function projection; lift-projection method; multivalued complex multiplicative integrals; geometric expectation; mixed differential equation; Lambert W function; W; M; w and m functions; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In this thesis we consider multiplicative integrals and derivatives on functions on the positive numbers, the logarithmic Riemann surface and the punctured complex numbers. Additive structures on the real and complex numbers are related to their multiplicative counterparts on the positive numbers and the logarithmic Riemann surface by defining exponential transition functors. Author : Matts Anvin; [2021]
    Keywords : race; representation; whiteness; colour-blindness; children´s books; Sweden;

    Abstract : In this thesis, through critically analysing images and text in a selection of Swedish children's picture books, the aim is to investigate how white and non-white bodies are represented, and how racial differences between these white and non-white bodies are depicted and racial meanings addressed. Theoretical concepts from within the field of Critical race- and Whiteness studies are applied, to demonstrate how hegemonic whiteness and colour-blindness as discourse is prevalent in these children´s books, which is achieved by using non-white characters as tokens.
