  1. 11. Closing the Plastic Tap — Global Plastic Waste and the Circular Economy. A Multi-Regional Hybrid Input-Output Analysis of Plastic Waste Footprints

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Author : Judith Baeta Humanes; [2021]
    Keywords : Business and Economics;

    Abstract : Plastic pollution is a cross-national environmental and societal challenge that needs to be addressed from the point of view of global supply chains. The circular economy (CE) has emerged as an alternative paradigm to the traditional “take-make-waste” models of production and consumption to create a closed-loop system so that plastic is trapped in the economy and not in the environment. 2. 12. Continuous Balance Evaluation by Image Analysis of Live Video : Fall Prevention Through Pose Estimation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Henrik Runeskog; [2021]
    Keywords : Fall prevention; balance estimation; center of mass; center of pressure; human pose estimation; human keypoint detection; Fallprevention; balansestimering; tyngdpunkt; tryckcentrum; kroppshållningsestimation;

    Abstract : The deep learning technique Human Pose Estimation (or Human Keypoint Detection) is a promising field in tracking a person and identifying its posture. As posture and balance are two closely related concepts, the use of human pose estimation could be applied to fall prevention. READ MORE

  3. 13. Sustainable electricity transition? The direct and indirect environmental impacts along the global supply chain of renewable and non-renewable sources of electricity. A greenhouse gas and material footprint analysis of the European Union’s electricity consumption

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Author : Sven Elia Lusti; [2021]
    Keywords : Business and Economics;

    Abstract : This thesis studies the direct and indirect environmental impacts of the European Union’s final consumption of electricity between 1995 and 2019. Using Exiobase 3, an environmentally extended multiregional input-output database, the greenhouse gas and material footprints for an aggregated 23 environmental stressors have been derived, indicating that renewable sources of electricity on average have lower greenhouse gas and similar material intensities as non-renewable electricity sources. 4. 14. Gain Estimation using Multi-Armed Bandit Policies

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Chia-Hsuan Chou; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates a new method to estimate the system norm using reinforcement learning. Given an unknown system, we aim to estimate its H∞- norm with a model-free approach, which involves solving a sequential input design problem. READ MORE

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : David Rene Gonzalez; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : A real-time system computes information before a deadline in a deterministic fashion.Xenomai is a real-time framework to port real-time industrial applications to Linux. Ithas a dual-kernel architecture, with one kernel dedicated to handling real-time tasksexclusively. This co-kernel operates along with the Linux kernel in the same memoryspace. READ MORE
