  1. 1. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Keywords : polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes. 2. 2. Comparison of soil CO2 efflux between different surface covers on a clear-cut and forest stand in southern Sweden, Hyltemossa

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Pamela Huskin Okinedo; [2020]
    Keywords : Soil CO2 efflux; Soil respiration; Soil moisture; Soil temperature; Clear-cut; Forest stand; Net ecosystem exchange; Photosynthetically active radiation; Carbon.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Large amounts of carbon in the terrestrial biosphere are stored in forest ecosystems and its soil. Once the forest ecosystem is disturbed the release of this carbon can drive positive feedback to global warming. Humans impact the forest ecosystem through clear-cutting for wood production and other commercial purposes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Shelf life of fresh-cut fruits and salad leaves treated with Pulsed Electric Field (PEF)

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Chandan Soni; [2019]
    Keywords : PEF; pulsed electric field; reversible electroporation; calorimeter; metabolic rate; shelf life; fresh commodities; food engineering; livsmedelsteknik; Agriculture and Food Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Application of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) treatment on five fresh commodities was analysed for the changes in the metabolic and physiological effects on their shelf life. Treatment parameters were optimised in order to achieve uniform electroporation on the samples, which was analysed by Propidium Iodide staining for the leaf samples. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of Robust Automated Handling of pre-impregnated Carbon Fibre

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Industriell Produktion

    Author : Fredrik Martinsson; [2018]
    Keywords : Composite Automation; Automated CFRP Layup; Prepreg; Pick and Place;

    Abstract : Prepreg is a fibre reinforced polymer composite material often used by the aeronautical industry. The material supplier has pre-impregnated the fibre often with an epoxy resin and cured it to a semi-viscous B-stage where the material is tacky (adhesive). READ MORE

  5. 5. Rörflen som strömedel i djupströbäddar för nötkreatur

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Author : Linnéa Holmström; [2014]
    Keywords : rörflen; strömedel; djupströbädd; damm; uppsugningsförmåga; ströåtgång;

    Abstract : På grund av de blöta höstarna de senaste åren har priset på halm stigit. Intresset har därmed ökat för att börja odla och använda energigräset rörflen som alternativt strömedel. Rörflen slås sent på hösten eller tidigt på våren för att sedan balas i slutet på april, eller i början på maj. READ MORE
