  1. 1. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 2. 2. Experiments with Visual Odometry for Hydrobatic Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Somnath Balaji Suresh Kumar; [2023]
    Keywords : Hydrobatic AUVs; VO; Stonefish; ORB-SLAM2; VISO2; Hydrobatiska AUV:er; VO; Stonefish; ORB-SLAM2; VISO2;

    Abstract : Hydrobatic Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) are underactuated robots that can perform agile maneuvers in challenging underwater environments with high efficiency in speed and range. The challenge lies in localizing and navigating these AUVs particularly for performing manipulation tasks because common sensors such as GPS become very unreliable underwater due to their poor accuracy. 3. 3. Server-side factor graph optimization for on-manifold pre-integration in IoT sensors

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Author : Samuel Gradén; [2023]
    Keywords : Edge computing; IoT; optimization; tracking; drone;

    Abstract : State and specifically location estimation is a core concept in automation and is a well-researched field. One such estimation technique is Moving Horizon Estimation (MHE). In this thesis, the MHE variant single-shooting estimation will estimate the location and velocity of a moving object. READ MORE

  4. 4. Acoustic Focusing of Lysozyme Crystals

    University essay from KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Author : Måns Junestrand; [2023]
    Keywords : Protein Crystals; Lysozyme Crystals; Ultrasound; Acoustic Focusing; SFX; Biomedical Physics; Proteinkristaller; Ultraljud; Lysozymkristaller; Akustisk fokusering; SFX; Biomedicinsk fysik;

    Abstract : Acoustic focusing of microscale protein crystals with acoustophoresis technology could reduce clogs during experiments with the scientific technique serial femtosecond x-ray crystallography (SFX). SFX determines molecular structures of proteins, these structures are valuable in drug discovery and fundamental biomedical research. READ MORE

  5. 5. Assessment of Shoulder Biomechanics during Pull-up Techniques

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Mariah Sabioni; [2023]
    Keywords : strength training; biomechanics; motion analysis; shoulder; styrketräning; biomekanik; rörelseanalys; axel;

    Abstract : CrossFit® has gained popularity as a functional training method that caters to individuals with varying levels of fitness, including those with little to no athletic background. Regardless, shoulders represent the highest injury rate in this sport, most frequently associated with pull-up variations. READ MORE
