Writing of supply chain activities manuals for a manufacturer of aeronautical parts

Abstract: The main purpose of this project, at Safran Electronics & Defense, Mantes-La-Ville, France, was to write the manual of activities of the Supply Chain. This manual gathers all the documents needed to explain the operation of the unit and was created at the request of the quality management. After sorting out all the existing documents, the obsolete ones were deleted, the useful ones set in order and some new documents were written. The result of this work is a document containing a description of the management, organization chart, rituals, indicators, and methods of operating and the procedures of the Supply Chain unit. In the meantime, several side projects about lean management were led during this mission: a 5S methodology applied on the desktop folder of the Supply Chain, the creation of a MOOC about logistics and the reorganization of the reception part.
