Measurements and Feature Detection in Scientific Visualization

Abstract: The work in this report focuses on atomic semi-classical magnetization dynamicsas implemented in the software package Cahmd, a classical atomisticHeisenberg-based magnetization dynamics toolbox by Danny Thonig et al. Theproject is about a state-of-the-art problem in theoretical condensed matterphysics. More precisely, the idea was about using modern 3D data visualizationbased on Vulkan and extend existing human-computer interaction aspectsfor detection of features and problem dependent properties. Such feature detectionwill be applied on the problem of atomistic magnetization dynamics.It will be applied to systems in thermalized states, but also systems hostingquasiparticle excitations.
