  1. 21. The Algorithms of Speech Recognition : programming and simulating in MATLAB

    University essay from Akademin för teknik och miljö

    Author : Tingxiao Yang; [2012]
    Keywords : speech recognition; MATLAB; cross-correlation; Wienner Filter;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis work is to investigate the algorithms of speech recognition. The author programmed and simulated the designed systems for algorithms of speech recognition in MATLAB. There are two systems designed in this thesis. One is based on the shape information of the cross-correlation plotting. READ MORE

  2. 22. Recognition from collections of local features

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Inst.)

    Author : Anna Babaryka; [2012]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : An image matching system for object recognition in scenes of varying complexity was constructed in Matlab for evaluating the recognition quality of two types of image features: SURF (Speeded-Up Robust Features) and SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) using the affine Hough matching algorithm for finding matches between training and test images. In the experimental part of the thesis, the matching was algorithm tested for varying number of image features extracted from the train and test images, namely 1000, 2000 and 3000 interest points. 3. 23. An Array of First Order Differential Microphone Strategies for Enhancement of Speech Signals

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : Naresh Reddy NagiReddy; Arun Kumar Korva; [2012]
    Keywords : speech enhancement; beamforming; microphone array; elko algorithm; wiener beamformer; differential microphone ;

    Abstract : The quality and intelligibility of speech is degraded with the presence of background noise in the speech signal, which affects the listeners ability to understand the speech clearly. Speech enhancement is the process with which the background noise can be suppressed to improve the quality and intelligibility of the speech signal. READ MORE

  4. 24. A Survey and Evaluation of Voice Activity Detection Algorithms

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : Seshashyama Sameeraj Meduri; Rufus Ananth; [2012]
    Keywords : Voice Activity Detector VAD ; Zero-Crossing Rate; Energy Threshold ;

    Abstract : The term Voice Activity Detector (VAD) refers to a class of signal processing methods that detects if short segments of a speech signal contain voiced or unvoiced signal data. A VAD is normally using decision rules based on selected estimated signal features. READ MORE

  5. 25. Enhancement of Speech Intelligibility using Beamforming Techniques

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : LEELA KRISHNA GUDUPUDI; [2012]
    Keywords : Beamforming; Speech Enhancement; Microphone Arrays; PESQ; Delay-and-Sum;

    Abstract : Speech enhancement is a process of enhancing the intelligibility or quality of speech using various audio processing algorithms. The concept of speech enhancement is the most important field for many applications such as teleconferencing systems, speech recognition, VoIP, mobile phones, hearing aids, etc. [1]. READ MORE
