  2. 12. Performance optimization ofthe online data processing softwareof a high-energy physics experiment : Performance optimization ofthe online data processing softwareof a high-energy physics experiment

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Péter Kardos; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The LHCb experiment probes the differences between matter and anti-matter by examining particle collisions. Like any modern high energy physics experiment, LHCbrelies on a complex hardware and software infrastructure to collect and analyze the data generated from particle collisions. READ MORE

  3. 13. Idiom-driven innermost loop vectorization in the presence of cross-iteration data dependencies in the HotSpot C2 compiler

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Programvara och system

    Author : William Sjöblom; [2020]
    Keywords : compiler; vectorization; SIMD; Java; HotSpot; code optimization; reductions; prefix sums; parallel programming; data-level parallelism;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a technique for automatic vectorization of innermost single statement loops with a cross-iteration data dependence by analyzing data-flow to recognize frequently recurring program idioms. Recognition is carried out by matching the circular SSA data-flow found around the loop body’s φ-function against several primitive patterns, forming a tree representation of the relevant data-flow that is then pruned down to a single parameterized node, providing a high-level specification of the data-flow idiom at hand used to guide algorithmic replacement applied to the intermediate representation. 4. 14. Employing a Transformer Language Model for Information Retrieval and Document Classification : Using OpenAI's generative pre-trained transformer, GPT-2

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Anton Bjöörn; [2020]
    Keywords : Deep Learning; Transformer Models; Information Retrieval; Ranking; Generative Pre-training; Document Classification; djupinlärning; transformermodeller; informationssökning; ranking; generativ förträning; dokumentklassificering;

    Abstract : As the information flow on the Internet keeps growing it becomes increasingly easy to miss important news which does not have a mass appeal. Combating this problem calls for increasingly sophisticated information retrieval methods. READ MORE

  5. 15. Laguerre Bases for Youla-Parametrized Optimal-Controller Design: Numerical Issues and Solutions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknik

    Author : Olle Kjellqvist; [2018]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the evaluation of cost functionals on H2 when designing optimal controllers using finite Youla parameterizations and convex optimization. We propose to compute inner products of stable, strictly proper systems via solving Sylvester equations. READ MORE
