  1. 1. Geometry studies of high energy 16O collisions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Aliaksei Kuzmenka; [2022]
    Keywords : Ion Collisions; Oxygen; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project a model of oxygen, 16O, nuclei, where the nucleons are organised in α-clusters, was implemented in the Pythia Monte Carlo event generator. To study the effects of the new model, some observables, such as the distribution of the number of the wounded nucleons, charged particle multiplicity in the forward and central pseudorapidity region, and the pseudorapidity distribution for different centrality bins and eccentricity, are compared to the model originally implemented in Pythia (Woods-Saxon). 2. 2. Measurement of particle yields induced by 200-MeV protons on multiple targets

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Rafael Antonio Lopez; [2018]
    Keywords : QFS; Quasi-free Scattering; 16O; 112Sn; 124Sn; FAIR; CsI Tl ; R3B; 6.3-MeV gamma; CALIFA; p; 2p ; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : One way to probe the structure of atomic nuclei far from stability is via quasi-free scattering (QFS) reactions. We conducted a (p,2p) QFS experiment on H2O, 112Sn, 124Sn and 208Pb targets in order to test the performance of CsI(Tl) detectors that are to be used in the upcoming R3B experiments at FAIR. 3. 3. Tracing the source of groundwater for three different coastal peatlands along Lake Superior

    University essay from SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Author : Margus Paesalu; [2011]
    Keywords : Peatland ; hydrology; groundwater; Lake Superior;

    Abstract : The goal of this project was to investigate the influence of a large inland lake onadjacent coastal freshwater peatlands. The specific aim was to determine the source ofgroundwater for three differently formed peatlands located on the southern shore ofLake Superior. READ MORE
