  1. 21. Fluid inclusions and geochemistry of the Peña del Seo W-deposit, northwest Spain : Controlling mechanisms for tungsten deposition

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Sara Bergström; [2020]
    Keywords : Greisen-system; fluid inclusion; tungsten; granite; northwestern Spain;

    Abstract : The Peña del Seo tungsten deposit in northwestern Spain is situated in the tin (Sn)-tungsten (W) metallogenic province of Europe − one of the richest tin-tungsten (tantalum-lithium) mineral provinces in the world. The European Union’s current goal is to become self-sufficient of these commodities in the near future and the iTARG3T project was launched in order to improve the understanding and provide innovative exploration methods of these types of deposits. 2. 22. Major and trace element geochemical analysis of norites in the Hakefjorden Complex to constrain magma source and magma plumbing systems

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Aodhan Barrett; [2020]
    Keywords : Anorthosite; norite; Plagioclase; Hakefjorden Complex; Sweden; Trace Elements; Geochemistry; Magma Origin; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Major and trace element data taken from plagioclase crystals from anorthosites and related rock units in the Hakefjorden Complex located off the west coast of Sweden were investigated for the purposes of constraining magma chamber processes and the source of the magma. Although the anorthosite units were completely homogenous in regards to its chemistry, the plagioclase in the associated norite and ilmenite-leuconorite units showed substantial variation. READ MORE

    Abstract : The chemical compositions of Cr-spinel extracted from mafic and ultramafic rocks collected on Ellesmere Island in the Arctic Canadian Archipelago were obtained through electron microprobe analyses. The extensively altered rocks are sampled from rock units in the Franklinian MobileBelt, which is representative of a Paleozoic tectonically active oceanic regime of which little is presently known. 4. 24. Unravelling the timing and distribution of Paleoproterozoic dyke swarms in the eastern Kaapvaal Craton, South Africa

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Camilo Esteban Gaitan Valencia; [2019]
    Keywords : Kaapvaal; Mashining; black hills; dyke events; U-Pb geochronology; baddeleyite; geochemistry; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : I denna uppsats presenterar jag kristallisationsåldrar, petrografi och geokemisk sammansättning för diabasgångar och en lagergång i östra och sydöstra Kaapvaal kratonen, Sydafrika. Dessa nya resultat ger mer exakta och pålitliga resultat än tidigare dateringar för diabaser tillhörande den s.k. READ MORE

  5. 25. A geoarchaeological study on two Norwegian boat graves : Soil analysis and an attempt of forensic work strategy and thinking in the interpretation of the results

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för idé- och samhällsstudier

    Author : Stefano Vilardi; [2019]
    Keywords : Geoarchaeology; forensic approach; Geochemistry; boat graves;

    Abstract : The following paper is the final thesis of two years long experimental work conducted on two different collections of soil samples coming from two different Norwegian archaeological sites. In particular, the first collection of soil samples comes from an identified boat grave from the Viking Age (eg Sykehus area Kristiansand County, Vest-Agder). READ MORE
