  1. 6. Towards Adaptive Image Resolution for Visual SLAM on Resource-constrained Devices

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Herman Blenneros; [2023]
    Keywords : Visual localization and mapping; Runtime-control; Resource-constrained devices; Bildbaserad lokalisering och kartläggning; Realtidsreglering; Resursbegränsade enheter;

    Abstract : Today, a large number of devices with small form factors and limited resources are being integrated with processes to perform complex tasks such as localization and mapping. One example of this are headsets used for Extended Reality. READ MORE

  2. 7. Stability improvement to a ruthenium catalyst for partial oxidation of methane

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Melker Axelsson; [2023]
    Keywords : catalysis; reaction engineering; kinetics; partial oxidation; chemical engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Catalytic partial oxidation of methane (CPOM) is an energy-efficient alternative to steam reforming, the currently prevailing method for energy production from natural gas. Hulteberg Chemistry & Engineering AB has developed a catalyst for the partial oxidation of methane into syngas, for use in solid oxide fuel cells. READ MORE

  3. 8. Wastewater Characterisation for Design and Modelling of Primary Settlers at Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automation

    Author : Louise Westin; [2023]
    Keywords : Primary Settling Tank; Wastewater Treatment; Settleometer; Particle Settling Velocity Distribution; Modelling.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The primary settling tank (PST) is often one of the first treatment steps at a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and is the first process in the plant to remove significant amounts of suspended solids. Its role in wastewater treatment however, has oftentimes been neglected and little effort has been made to optimize and model the process. READ MORE

  4. 9. Optimal Order Placement Using Markov Models of Limit Order Books

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Author : Max Oliveberg; [2023]
    Keywords : Optimal order placement; Limit order book; Markov; Optimal orderläggning; Orderbok; Markov;

    Abstract : We study optimal order placement in a limit order book. By modelling the limit order book dynamics as a Markov chain, we can frame the purchase of a single share as a Markov Decision Process. Within the framework of the model, we can estimate optimal decision policies numerically. The trade rate is varied using a running cost control variable. READ MORE

  5. 10. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE
