  1. 1. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 2. 2. Using Quantization and Serialization to Improve AI Super-Resolution Inference Time on Cloud Platform

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Wai-Hong Anton Fu; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : AI Super-Resolution is a branch of Artificial Intelligence where the goal is to take a low-resolution image and upscale it into a high-resolution image. These models are usually deep learning models based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and/or transformers. READ MORE

  3. 3. Supersymmetry on Curved Space and Localization: An Example on S3

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Jim Lundin; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : We present a basic introduction to the Super Poincaré algebra in 4D, then constructthe N = 1 Super Yang-Mills in 4D. By analogue we expand to the case of N = 1 Super Yang-Mills in 10D. Then by a method of dimensional reduction we getcertain supersymmetric theories in d <= 7 and restrict to spherical backgrounds. READ MORE

  4. 4. AdS/CFT correspondence and c-extremization

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Roberto Goranci; [2017]
    Keywords : AdS CFT; c-extremization; Super Yang-Mills; Supergravity; M5 membrane; Conformal field theory; Anomalies; superconformal CFT; 6d SCFT; black string; String theory; compactification;

    Abstract : In this project we review the method of using c-extremization and computing anomalies to obtain AdS/CFT theories. We start with a quick introduction to CFT's and AdS/CFT correspondence which gives us the tools to later understand the 2D N= (2,0) SCFT and its gravity duals in particular AdS_5xS^5 and AdS_7xS^4 compactified on Riemann surfaces. .. 5. 5. FPGA-BASED HYBRID COMPUTING FOR ESS LINAC SIMULATOR.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Arun Jeevaraj; [2017]
    Keywords : Hybrid Computing; OpenCL; FPGA; Linear Accelerator; Heterogeneous computing; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The thesis explores efficient implementation strategies for the European Spallation Source (ESS) linear accelerator simulator. The target simulator needs to run at real time, requires high computation accuracy, and should be scalable for high density beam scenarios. READ MORE
