  1. 11. Estimation of dissolved organic carbon from inland waters using remote sensing data and machine learning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Lasse Harkort; [2022]
    Keywords : dissolved organic carbon; machine learning; remote sensing; inland waters; water quality; open source data; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the first attempt to estimate Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) in inland waters over a large-scale area using satellite data and machine learning (ML) methods. Four ML approaches, namely Random Forest Regression (RFR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), and a Multilayer Backpropagation Neural Network (MBPNN) were tested to retrieve DOC using a filtered version of the recently published open source AquaSat dataset with more than 16 thousand samples across the continental US matched with satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8 missions. 2. 12. Analysis of condition for ALD deposition of ferroelectric HZO

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Teodor Qvint; [2022]
    Keywords : HZO; Ferro; ALD; Temperature; Purge time; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Deposition of ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide (HZO) on semiconductor samples with Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) has proven to be a viable method of production. But while the physical processes of ALD deposition is relatively well know, there exists some gaps in knowledge about different parameters for the ALD and the resulting depositions. READ MORE

  3. 13. Design, implementation and evaluation of a deep learning prototype to classify non-pigmented malignant skin cancer from dermatoscopic images

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Maria del Pilar Aguilera Manzanera; [2022]
    Keywords : Melanoma; Skin cancer; Dermatoscopy; Image classification; Machine learning; Artificial intelligence; Convolutional neural networks; Dermatology; Squamous cell carcinoma; Basal cell carcinoma; Actinic keratosis; Computer-aided Diagnostics; Digital dermatology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The current trends for most fair-skinned populations are that the incidence of melanoma and non-pigmented skin lesions is growing, and this growing trend will continue for the upcoming years. The emergence of deep learning networks and their promising results in solving real-world healthcare problems and improving diagnostic accuracy opens new possibilities. READ MORE

  4. 14. Vectorization of the Jacobi method with single- and multiple right-hand sides

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum; Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten)

    Author : Patrik Paaso; [2022]
    Keywords : C ; Vectorization; SIMD; DUNE; VCL; Vc; Jacobi method; Jacobi iteration; discrete Poisson s equation; Stationary iterative methods; Computational science; Optimization; Numerical analysis; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Vectorization has been an important consideration for scientific com- puting performance for a long time. Early super computers were designed around vectorization, the so called ”vector computers”, but recent trends point toward favouring other computer architectures, and vector comput- ers are much more rare than they used to be. 5. 15. Quality inspection of vessel/ship without human involvement : Current trends and future developments

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : Roshan Padoor Rathiskumar; [2022]
    Keywords : Quality Inspection; computer vision; Industry 4.0; Drone inspection; Corrosion detection; Underwater robots;

    Abstract : Ships and vessel conditions demand regular assessment to maintain their safety. In the traditional environment, their assessment was conducted using surveys and complex and time-consuming operations. But now, with the emergence of Industry 4. READ MORE
