  1. 11. Wastewater Characterisation for Design and Modelling of Primary Settlers at Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automation

    Author : Louise Westin; [2023]
    Keywords : Primary Settling Tank; Wastewater Treatment; Settleometer; Particle Settling Velocity Distribution; Modelling.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The primary settling tank (PST) is often one of the first treatment steps at a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and is the first process in the plant to remove significant amounts of suspended solids. Its role in wastewater treatment however, has oftentimes been neglected and little effort has been made to optimize and model the process. READ MORE

  2. 12. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  3. 13. Assessment and evaluation of heterogeneity in data from immune infiltration spatial niches in lung cancer

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Mahta Keivani Najafabadi; [2023]
    Keywords : Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : The protein biomarker expressions in three types of sampled immune INFILTration spatial niches in lung cancer tissue were measured using the new technology Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP). The three types of immune INFILTration that were observed in lung tumors were STROMA identified as immune cells separate from tumor cells, Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) identified as dense structures of organized immune cells and finally Infiltraterate where immune cells dispersed among and in direct contact with tumor cells (INFILT). 4. 14. Knowledge distillation for anomaly detection

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Nils Gustav Erik Pettersson; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The implementation of systems and methodologies for time series anomaly detection holds the potential of providing timely detection of faults and issues in a wide variety of technical systems. Ideally, these systems are able to identify deviations from the normal behavior of systems even before any problems manifest, thus enabling proactive maintenance. READ MORE

  5. 15. Finding Anomalous Energy ConsumersUsing Time Series Clustering in the Swedish Energy Market

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Lukas Tonneman; [2023]
    Keywords : time-series analysis; clustering; electricity consumer clustering; anomaly detection; gaussian mixture model; hierarchical clustering;

    Abstract : Improving the energy efficiency of buildings is important for many reasons. There is a large body of data detailing the hourly energy consumption of buildings. This work studies a large data set from the Swedish energy market. READ MORE
