  1. 1. Does an increase in adaptive audio lead to an increase in perceptual realism in first-person games?

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik, konst och samhälle

    Author : Petter Persson; [2023]
    Keywords : Game; adaptive; procedural; interactive; audio; sound; immersion; presence; immersive; present; first-person; realism; perceptual; Unreal Engine; virtual;

    Abstract : When striving for realism in first-person games, the use of sampled audio has been frequent, and it is often argued that a higher level of auditory authenticity will lead to an increased realism.However, in this paper, it is argued that, for the purpose of realism, attention should instead be directed at making players themselves a more contributing factor to how sound is perceived; the more the audio of a game changes with, or adapts to, player input, the more realistic it should be perceived. 2. 2. Magnetic field of the Ap star EP UMa

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Jakob Melin; [2023]
    Keywords : stars: chemically peculiar - stars: magnetic fields – stars: individual: EP UMa;

    Abstract : Magnetic fields play a crucial roll in the stellar activity and evolutionof stars. Despite much research there is much that we do notunderstand. Among Ap stars, empirical evidence has suggested a minimumthreshold for the dipolar magnetic field strength of Bp ≈ 300G. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dual-polarized geodesic lens in sub-THz

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Wenfu Fu; [2022]
    Keywords : beam scanning; dual polarization; fully metallic; geodesic lens; Luneburg lens antenna; THz; strålskanning; korspolarisering; fullt metallisk; geodetisk lins; Luneburg linsantenn; THz;

    Abstract : In the sub-THz frequency range, the geodesic lens can realize low losses and beam scanning capability with high gain and high aperture efficiency due to its fully metallic property and rotational symmetry. Therefore, in high-frequency applications, a geodesic lens is considered a more promising solution in comparison to phased arrays or other beamforming techniques. READ MORE

  4. 4. EMG-aktivering av rotatorcuffen vid olika muskelstärkande aktiviteter - En biomekanisk studie.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering

    Author : Jonatan Löf; Rasmus Lundqvist; [2022]
    Keywords : Electromyography EMG ; Rotator cuff; TheraBand; Pulley-system; Maximal Voluntary Isometric Contraction MVIC ; Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Introduction Both M. Supraspinatus and M. Infraspinatus of the rotator cuff play a role in stabilizing the shoulder during movement. When rehabilitating shoulders after injury a wide range of tools are used to strengthen the shoulder, often including a pulley system or TheraBand. READ MORE

  5. 5. Identification of Potential Sources of Measurement Errors in an Isokinetic Dynamometer : Reliability Analysis of Shoulder Abduction and Flexion Data

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Malena Grannerud; [2022]
    Keywords : Isokinetic dynamometer; shoulder abduction; shoulder flexion; rotator cuff; torque; load; force; repeatability; reproducibility; reliability; agreement; ICC; intraclass correlation coefficient; Bland Altman; Isokinetisk dynamometer; axelabduktion; axelflexion; rotatorcuff; vridmoment; last; kraft; repeterbarhet; reproducerbarhet; tillförlitlighet; överensstämmelse; ICC; intraklass korrelationskoefficient; Bland Altman;

    Abstract : The evaluation of shoulder abduction and flexion strength is important in the rehabilitation after rotator cuff tear. The purpose of this work is to assess the intra and inter-rater reliability of measurement data from an isokinetic dynamometer used to evaluate shoulder abduction and flexion strength, with the aim to identify sources of measurement errors and suggest improvements.
