16. Time study and flow-simulation : Current and future analysis
University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskapAbstract : Discrete-event simulations are increasingly being used to solve problems and to aid in decision making which are proving useful in the manufacturing industry. The main aim for this thesis was to compare the current production line and how implementing changes for a future state as a supporting basis for making the decision. READ MORE

17. Spot-Weld Fatigue Optimization
University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära (Avd.)Abstract : The purpose of this thesis project is to develop a methodology that can be used to minimize the number of spot-welds in a mechanical structure, this is done in a reliable manner via optimization methods. The optimization considers fatigue life in spot-welds and also stiffness and eigenfrequency values. READ MORE

18. A Comparative Study of Shell Nouns in English Academic Writing by Chinese and Swedish Authors
University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för språk, litteratur och interkultur (from 2013)Abstract : This thesis aims to examine factors that influence the use of shell nouns in the writing production by Chinese and Swedish authors. Based on previous studies of shell nouns, this research establishes a theoretical model and a hypothesis is put forward: Though writing in the same genre, Chinese and Swedish authors have different ways of adopting shell nouns partially due to first language transfer. 19. Effects of altered body weight and body fat content on performance, recovery response and locomotion asymmetry in the Icelandic horse
University essay from SLU/Dept. of Anatomy, Physiology and BiochemistryAbstract : The objective of this thesis was to investigate the effects of altered body weight and body condition score on physiological response to exercise in terms of performance, recovery and locomotion asymmetry in Icelandic horses. Obesity is a commonly rising problem in modern horse management. READ MORE

20. Multitaper analysis of HRV power and its stress-related correlation to respiration frequency
University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistikAbstract : In this Master thesis, different multitaper methods are implemented to estimate the spectra of respiratory signals and HRV data, and further to estimate the correlation between the respiratory center frequency and the narrow-banded high frequency band of HRV power. The methods are applied first on ARMA-process data, then on the integrated pulse frequency modulation (IPFM) data simulations, where the evaluation is performed by calculating the bias and standard deviation of the narrow-banded HRV power and its correlation with respiratory frequency.
