  1. 1. Modeling wave behavior with linear wave theory

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Elsa Renström; [2024]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis aimed to look at the behaviours of the water beneath waves from a modeling and simulations point of view. We have investigated how to use Linear wave theory (LWT) to model the kinematic movements in water governed by free ocean waves. The model assumes the surface to consist of a superposition of sinusoidal waves. READ MORE

  2. 2. Bridging the GAP for knowledge creation in an international project : A qualitative case study for SIREUS, a SACC-USA program

    University essay from Jönköping University/Internationella Handelshögskolan

    Author : Erika Villumsen; Louise Murphy; [2023]
    Keywords : Knowledge management; tacit knowledge; explicit knowledge; knowledge creation; knowledge creation in projects; International projects;

    Abstract : Background:The management of knowledge within organizations and projects has become increasinglyimportant. In addition, the number of transnational projects is on the rise. Moreover, projectsare considered the loci where new knowledge is generated. READ MORE

  3. 3. Gravity water waves over constant vorticity flows: from laminar flows to touching waves

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Francisco Gonçalves Jorge Dias de Carvalho; [2023]
    Keywords : Partial differential equations; Water waves; Euler equations; Free boundary problem; Bifurcation theory; Nonlinear functional analysis; Hilbert transform; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In a recent paper, Hur and Wheeler proved the existence of periodic steady water waves over an infinitely deep, two-dimensional and constant vorticity flow and subject to gravity whose profile overhangs, among which, waves whose surface touches at a point, enclosing a bubble of air. We take this further, proving the existence of a continuous curve of water waves from a laminar flow up to a touching wave for fixed non-zero gravity. READ MORE

  4. 4. An operator theoretic approach to the Riemann Hypothesis

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Ramon Arjan van de Scheur; [2023]
    Keywords : Riemann hypothesis; Prime number theorem; Prime number theorem for arithmetic progressions; operator theoretic equivalent; compact operator; prime-counting function; Chebyshev function; Laplace transform; Fourier transform; convolution operator; weak topology; strong topology; compact perturbation; Tauberian theorem; Poisson kernel; holomorphic; self-adjoint; spectrum; trace; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In 2023 an operator theoretic approach to the Prime Number Theorem was introduced by Olsen. In this thesis this approach is examined and applied to give a new, operator theoretic, proof of a different version of the Prime Number Theorem and of the Prime Number Theorem for arithmetic progressions. 5. 5. The early stages of extended reality : An analysis of the opportunities and challenges faced by early stage businesses within the extended reality (XR) industry

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för teknik och samhälle (TS)

    Author : Philip Johannesson; Julia Karlsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Extended Reality; Virtual Reality; Augmented Reality; Mixed Reality;

    Abstract : In recent years, the extended reality (XR) industry has witnessed remarkable growth, revolutionizing various sectors. The potential of XR to reshape industries and create new business opportunities has captured the attention of entrepreneurs and investors alike, leading to the emergence of numerous early stage businesses venturing into this exciting field.
