  1. 16. PV self-consumption: Regression models and data visualization

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Martos Tóth; [2022]
    Keywords : Self-Consumption; photovoltaics; battery; machine learning; solar energy; random forest; k-nearest neighbor; multi-layer perceptron; lasso regression; ridge regression; linear regression; Egenanvändning; photovoltaics; batteri; maskininlärning; solenergi; random forest; k-nearest neighbors; multi-layer perceptron; lasso regression; ridge regression; linjär regression;

    Abstract : In Sweden the installed capacity of the residential PV systems is increasing every year. The lack of feed-in-tariff-scheme makes the techno-economic optimization of the PV systems mainly based on the self-consumption. The calculation of this parameter involves hourly building loads and hourly PV generation. READ MORE

  2. 17. Moment-resisting connections for glulam using birch plywood : An experimental study on both mechanical and adhesive connections

    University essay from KTH/Byggnadsmaterial

    Author : Jonatan Ringaby; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The aim of this study was to investigate the load-bearing capacity and stiffness of mechanical and adhesively bonded connections in timber structures with gusset plates made of birch plywood, as a preliminary study for potential future use in long-span timber structures which could reduce the environmental impact of the building sector by substituting steel with wood products in moment-resisting connections. Birch plywood was chosen for this study due to its high bending strength in comparison to plywood made of softwoods and its availability on the market. READ MORE

  3. 18. Selection Intent Prediction in Online Virtual Environments : A Comparison Study

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Charles-Eole Marichal; [2022]
    Keywords : HCI; XR; Selection; Prediction; Online virtual environments; MDI; XR; Urval; Förutsägelse; Virtuella online-miljöer;

    Abstract : In this work, we address the problem of the selection of 3D objects based on the user’s intent to interact with them in online virtual environments, both on desktop and VR devices. In addition to the traditional ray-casting technique, we select four promising techniques from the literature using time-dependent volumetric scoring (IntenSelect), trajectory prediction (KEP), Kalman filters enhancement (KalmanKEP) and machine learning with decision trees (MTP). 4. 19. Short-term Forecasting of EV Charging Stations Power Consumption at Distribution Scale

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Milan Clerc; [2022]
    Keywords : Electric Vehicles; Electrical grid; Ancillary services; Time series; Gradient Boosted Trees; Recurrent Neural Networks; ARIMA.; Elbilar; Elnät; Tidsserie; Återkommande neurala nätverk; Maskininlärning.;

    Abstract : Due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy production, maintaining the stability of the power supply system is becoming a significant challenge of the energy transition. Besides, the penetration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and the development of a large network of charging stations will inevitably increase the pressure on the electrical grid. READ MORE

  5. 20. Load-bearing wood connections using birch plywood : An experimental study of birch plywood gusset plates behaviour with mechanical connectors

    University essay from KTH/Byggnadsmaterial

    Author : Mattia Debertolis; Agne Laurinaviciute; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : A growing sustainability concern is pushing the construction industry to seekalternative materials with lower environmental impact. In the last decade useof wood as load-bearing construction has become a common trend, however,connections of timber elements are still performed by the use of steel plates. READ MORE
