University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; Lunds universitet/LUMID International Master programme in applied International Development and Management

Abstract: Armenia started the disability policy reforms since the ratification of the UN CRPD in 2010. The final laws however were adopted only in 2021 and are not fully in force till now. The objective of this study is to comprehensively investigate the influence of international development agendas on national policy-shaping. Additionally, the study seeks to gain a nuanced understanding of the complex processes involved in translating international norms and standards into national policies and practices, highlighting the actors, institutions, and governance mechanisms involved in the implementation of the CRPD and the adaptation of ideas, practices, and institutions to the local context.
