  1. 21. E-Waste Prevention in Sweden: Fostering Computer Refurbishment and Reuse

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Author : Markus Scheffel; [2016]
    Keywords : E-waste prevention Sweden; Computer reuse market Sweden; Computer reuse organisations; Barriers to computer reuse organisations; Suppliers to computer reuse organisations; Customers of computer reuse organisations; Computer Refurbishing; IT Equipment Refurbishing; Business and Economics;

    Abstract : The thesis at hand aims to provide an overview of the reuse market(s) for desktop and laptop computers in Sweden in order to support policy-makers and computer reuse organisations in developing strategies and measures to foster computer reuse and thus reducing the volume of related e-waste as outlined in the national Waste Prevention Plan 2014-2017. Existing types of computer reuse organisations, the barriers they face and their types of suppliers and (receiving) customers were assessed via telephonic in-depth interviews with representatives of nine computer reuse organisations in Sweden. 2. 22. Implementing Linear Predictive Coding based on a statistical model for LTE fronthaul

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Ghassan Nakkoul; Mohammad Shohag Hassan Kaikobad; [2016]
    Keywords : Entropy; LTE fronthaul; RRH; BBU; C-RAN; Quantization; LTE downlink; Cyclic prefix; LPC; EVM; OFDM; Linear predicting coding; LTE; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis studies the application of Linear Predictive coding (LPC) in the downlink of Long Term Evolution (LTE) fronthaul, which comprises of BBU and RRH. This can act as an additional module in the existing system. Today, the transmission of a single complex sample from the BBU to the RRH consumes 30 bits. READ MORE

  4. 24. Determinants of Capital Structure: Evidence from the Global Renewable Energy Sector

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Eliza Mitreva; Biser Georgiev; [2015]
    Keywords : pecking order theory; trade-off theory; leverage; renewable energy companies; Capital structure determinants; Business and Economics;

    Abstract : The main purpose of this master thesis is to determine the factors that significantly influence the capital structure decisions in the global renewable energy sector during the period 2005-2013.This study is implemented through a quantitative approach, using a panel data model, in which leverage is the dependent variable, controlled by a set of firm-specific, industry-specific, tax-related and macroeconomic independent variables. 5. 25. Ab Initio Structure Evaluation of Aperiodic Structures in the Rare Earth – Ruthenium Systems

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Alfred Carlsson; [2015]
    Keywords : Crystallography; Higher-Dimensional Crystal Structures; Aperiodic Structures; Er3Ru2; LaRux; Y44Ru25; Superspace; Rare Earth-Ruthenium; Binary Rare Earth-Ruthenium Systems; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Binary alloys comprising of the rare earth metals along with ruthenium, RE-Ru, have been noted to display superconductivity at low temperatures. Furthermore the alloys display interesting magnetic properties such as anomalies in magnetization measurements below the magnetic ordering temperature. READ MORE
