  1. 16. Conceptual Design of an Air-Launched Three-Staged Orbital Launch Vehicle

    University essay from KTH/Rymdteknik

    Author : Måns Rasmussen; [2021]
    Keywords : Air-launched; Launch Vehicle; Three-staged; Rocket; Sun-Synchronous orbit; Solid propellant; Liquid propellant; Trajectory optimization; Nonlinear programming; JAS 39 Gripen; Fighter aircraft; Luftlanserad; Trestegsraket; Solsynkron bana; Fast bränsle; Flytande bränsle; Bananalys; Icke-linjär optimering; JAS 39 Gripen; Jaktflygplan;

    Abstract : The objective of this study was to design a launch vehicle capable of deploying a nanosatellite into a Sun-synchronous orbit at 500 km orbital altitude from the JAS 39E/F Gripen fighter aircraft. This was achieved by first performing theoretical calculations for the required nozzles and solid propellant grain configurations for the first two solid stages, followed by the necessary liquid propellant configuration for the third stage. 2. 17. Global clock distribution in the SiLago platform

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Jordi Altayó; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The extreme evolution of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) design has followed Moore’s law for the past decades, which predicts a doubling of the number of transistors that can be implemented on a chip every 18 months. However, tightly coupled with the evolution of the technology capabilities, the complexity during the implementation of such designs has also increased dramatically. READ MORE

  3. 18. Process design for utilizing spent grain as a potential energy source for craft breweries

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Henric Nordholm; [2020]
    Keywords : Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Craft breweries in Sweden are steadily increasing and they face a major challenge with the byproduct that is generated in the brewing process. The by-product is called wet spent grain (WSG) and the biggest challenge lays in its’ high moisture content which will make it spoil within a few days. READ MORE

  4. 19. Fabrication and Evaluation of Sb2Te3/PVDF Hybrid Thermoelectric Films

    University essay from KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Author : Bo Yu; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Thermoelectric (TE) materials and devices have been extensively studied for harvesting waste heat energy. There is more interest to fabricate TE materials and devices at low cost and highly-efficient ways. READ MORE

  5. 20. Structural Assessment of the Glulam Arches at Stockholm Central Station

    University essay from KTH/Byggnadsmaterial

    Author : Anders Naumburg; Kasper Krönlein; [2020]
    Keywords : Wood; Glulam; Glulam-arch; Hetzer system; Töreboda system; AB Fribärande träkonstruktioner; Curved I glulam cross-sections;

    Abstract : The purpose of this master’s thesis was to investigate if suspension of heavy objectsis possible in the glulam arches at Stockholm Central Station. The main goal was todetermine the arches’ load carrying capacity’s utility ratio, in order to give knowledgeif additional loading can be added. READ MORE
