  1. 6. Proposal for revised criteria for daylight provision for the European Daylight Standard EN 17037:2018+A1

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö

    Author : Zhengyu Jin; Xintong Chen; [2023]
    Keywords : Daylight; Residential; European Standards; Compliance; Spatial Daylight Autonomy; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The European daylight standard EN 17037 was first introduced in 2018 with the aim of encouraging building designers to evaluate and ensure adequate daylight provision in buildings. However, experience has shown that the standard’s criteria are generally perceived to be too challenging to achieve. READ MORE

  2. 7. Forest fertilization does not cause any long-term effects on tree growth or vegetation composition

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Ecology

    Author : Yixian Chen; [2023]
    Keywords : density; ground vegetation; height; stem radial growth; legacy nitrogen effect; soil total N and C N ratio; tree;

    Abstract : Forest fertilization is considered one of the most effective management options to improve forest productivity. In Fennoscandia, nitrogen (N) fertilization has been practiced for over 50 years and is normally added in the form of granules of NH4NO3 at least 15 years prior to the final harvest. READ MORE

  3. 8. House price and fertility behavior among different families - Empirical study from CFPS data

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Author : Huichan Chen; [2023]
    Keywords : House Price; Fertility Rate; Gender Effect; Birth Plan Policy; One Child Policy;

    Abstract : This paper uses panel data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) to examine the relationship between housing prices and fertility behavior in China, this paper analyzes sample data from 2014, 2016 and 2018 and uses Probit model and the logit model to study how house price affects fertility behavior among different families, furthermore, after the removal of One Child Policy, how the fertility behavior would react to house price. The study found that rising housing prices have a significant negative impact on fertility behavior, and that this negative impact persists even when using instrumental variables to control for endogeneity. 4. 9. Supersymmetry in Quantum Mechanics

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Author : Ludvig Chen; [2023]
    Keywords : Quantum Mechanics; Supersymmetry; Witten Index; Morse Theory;

    Abstract : The introduction of supersymmetry has led to great progress in the study of quantum field theories. Notably, with supersymmetry, properties of a quantum field theory can be computed with higher precision than what would otherwise be possible. In this project, we investigate supersymmetry in the context of quantum mechanics. READ MORE

  5. 10. Spinor-Helicity Formalism and ScatteringAmplitudes in Various Dimensions

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Chen Huang; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In recent decades, spinor-helicity formalism has gained popularity as a useful tool for studyingscattering amplitudes in four dimensions. This formalism has been extended to higher dimensions,but there is still much work to be done around its application. READ MORE
