  1. 1. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  2. 2. Design and Packaging of All-in-One Axle

    University essay from KTH/Väg- och spårfordon samt konceptuell fordonsdesign

    Author : Alafiya Talib; Lakshay Singhal; [2023]
    Keywords : E-axle; Modularity; PUGH’s Matrix; CAD-Modeling; Kinematic Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; E-axel; Modularitet; PUGHs matris; CAD-modellering; Kinematisk Analys; Finita Element Analys;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis work is to design an electric axle that contains all the operational components, like the powertrain, suspension, brakes, and steering system. One of the requirements of this design work is to package all the axle components compactly in one single unit. READ MORE

  3. 3. Efficient FE Modeling of Large Casted Parts

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion

    Author : Lalitha Swetha Amirapu; Haswanth Yalamanchili; [2023]
    Keywords : FE modeling; Large casted parts; Meshing techniques; Mid-surface modeling; FE-modellering; Stora gjutna delar; Meshing-tekniker; Mid-Surface modellering;

    Abstract : The design and analysis of large casted parts present significant challenges due to their complex geometry. Finite Element (FE) modeling is a vital tool for understanding the performance of casted components. However, the computational requirements associated with these parts often lead to excessive processing times and resource utilization. READ MORE

  4. 4. Life extension of welded steel details in bridges

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Author : Zhelei Jin; [2023]
    Keywords : Welded joints; Fatigue; Pre-fatigue; Life extension; Fracture mechanics; Finite element analysis; HFMI; ; Svetsade fogar; utmattning; förutmattning; livsförlängning; frakturmekanik; finit elementanalys; HFMI; ;

    Abstract : High-Frequency Mechanical Impacts (HFMI) is a surface treatment technique utilized to introduce residual stresses and extend the service life of structures. This project primarily focuses on studying the life extension effects of HFMI on welded structures that have undergone fatigue and have existing cracks. READ MORE

  5. 5. FEM analysis of existing buildings during renovation

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära
