  1. 1. The Effect of Residual Bacterial Products Associated to Root Canal Infection on Stem Cells from the Apical Papilla: Understanding Basis on Regenerative Endodontic Treatment

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Tandläkarutbildning

    Author : Alhussan Sora; Abla Afnan; [2022]
    Keywords : SCAP; RTCA; regenerative endodontic; Inactivated bacteria;

    Abstract : Background: The regenerative function of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAPs) is affected by the presence of bacteria from infected root canals. Living microorganisms influence SCAP function but the effect of inactive bacteria and its components on SCAPs needs further investigation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Role of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 in survival of Artemia franciscana : development of a new experimental model for probiotic studies

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Author : Tiziana Racca; [2020]
    Keywords : probiotics; Lactobacillus reuteri; Artemia franciscana;

    Abstract : The crustacean Artemia franciscana represents a potential experimental model for human studies. The aim of the project was to assess whether Artemia could be used as a model for investigation of probiotic properties. READ MORE

  3. 3. Rheological behaviour of probiotic bacteria dispersed in maltodextrin and sucrose solutions

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa och samhälle (HS)

    Author : Nousin Akter; [2020]
    Keywords : Lactobacillus reuteri; Maltodextrin; Probiotic bacteria; Rheological properties; Sucrose;

    Abstract : Probiotic bacteria are live microorganisms, which manifest health benefits in humans. The goal of this work was to characterize rheological properties of probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus reuteri) formulation in which maltodextrin and sucrose used as excipients. READ MORE

  4. 4. Flow cytometry analysis of cell viability of Lactobacillus reuteri during growth under different conditions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Author : Anirudh Sen; [2020]
    Keywords : Lactobacillus reuteri; Flow cytometry; cFDA; Applied microbiology; Teknisk mikrobiologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Lactobacillus reuteri is a probiotic bacterium which when consumed or administered in certain recommended dosages can provide a number of health benefits to the consumer. To have an effect on the consumer, these bacteria must survive until they reach the gut. READ MORE

  5. 5. Energy & redox fluxes in Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Author : Katarzyna Bengtsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Energy; redox fluxes; Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938; different sugars; applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Biology and Life Sciences; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Under anaerobic condition the specific growth rate of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars, was analyzed using spectrophotometry. Electron acceptor (fructose) supported cells to cope with poor energy recovery by re-oxidising the NADH, thus enabling ATP formation thru acetate production, while fermenting glucose via the phosphoketolase pathway (PKP) and simultaneously operating via Embden-Meyerhof pathway (EMP).
