  1. 21. The Negative Externality of Peer Group Income: Evidence from Three Developed Economies

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Jón Sjúrður Pálsson Arge; [2021]
    Keywords : happiness economics; social comparison; peer group income; Easterlin Paradox; Business and Economics;

    Abstract : This paper examines the effect of peer group household income on happiness in three developed economies: the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, where we define peer groups by age, gender, and education. Using the most recent panel waves from the General Social Survey (GSS) and the European Social Survey (ESS), we find comparable results from all three countries, namely a negative coefficient of peer group household income that is statistically not different in absolute magnitude from the coefficient of the respondent’s own household income. 2. 22. FEM Simulation Study of Iron Losses for a Linear Generator

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknik

    Author : Pramod Hassan Kantharaj; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Over the past few years, electricity generation from renewable resources has increased. Power generation from the ocean waves is also one among them. The technology consists of many subsystems. Generators are considered the heart of the entire subsystem or technology. READ MORE

  4. 24. Interpolation and visualization of sparse GPR data

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Rickard Sjödin; [2020]
    Keywords : GPR; Ground Penetrating Radar; Interpolation;

    Abstract : Ground Penetrating Radar is a tool for mapping the subsurface in a noninvasive way. The radar instrument transmits electromagnetic waves and records the resulting scattered field. Unfortunately, the data from a survey can be hard to interpret, and this holds extra true for non-experts in the field. The data are also usually in 2. READ MORE

  5. 25. Development of a Tool for Imaging the Pumping-Out Behavior of Poly- Vinyl Alcohol Shelled Microbubbles

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Stina Hägglund; [2020]
    Keywords : Microbubbles; Pumping-out behavior; Verasonics; Ultrasound; Ultrafast imaging;

    Abstract : For many years, microbubbles have been used as ultrasound contrast agents to improve the quality of diagnostics, seeing that they produce more backscattering ultrasound than blood does. Novel types of microbubbles and increased knowledge about their different behaviors have led to other suggested areas of use. READ MORE
