  1. 6. CHARACTERISATION OF CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER PROPERTIES

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Byggnadsmekanik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för byggvetenskaper

    Author : Emil Nilsson; [2021]
    Keywords : CLT; cross laminated timber; in-plane loading; out-of-plane loading; beam; rolling shear modulus; experimental tests; FE-modelling; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This project concerns an analysis of a hitherto untested method for determining the modulus of elasticity (MoE) and shear modulus parallel to grain, as well as the rolling shear modulus of cross laminated timber (CLT) through 3-point bending tests. A review of analytical models and methods is included, followed by an evaluation of the effect of the annual ring orientation and shear stress distribution at shear loading of individual board cross-sections. 2. 7. Development of a Method to Measure Residual Stresses in Cast Components with Complex Geometries

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Yang Yang; [2020]
    Keywords : Residual Stresses; Cast Iron; Engine Components; XRD; Ultrasonic; Cutting;

    Abstract : Cast iron, taking the advantages of the advanced castability forming components of complex geometries and favorable mechanical properties, is employed in engine components in truck industries. Compacted graphite iron (CGI) integrates both merits of lamellar graphite iron (LGI) and spheroidal graphite iron (SGI) such as good machinability and high thermal conductivity from LGI, high ultimate tensile strength (UTS), good fatigue resistance, high elastic modulus, and high ductility from SGI, thus is now becoming a competitive alternative of traditional LGI in cylinder blocks and heads. 3. 8. Simmulating pullout forces in particleboard

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanik och hållfasthetslära

    Author : Tapiwanashe Phiri; Niklas Björkman; [2019]
    Keywords : transversely isotropic material; orthotropic material; particleboard; finite element analysis; material model;

    Abstract : Pull-out forces of screws and connectors in particleboard are particularly important when designing for strength and, or assembly in the furniture industry. The aim of this thesis was to develop a simulation model of particleboard that can predict pull-out forces of screws better than the currently used simulation model at IKEA of Sweden. READ MORE

  4. 9. Do Dividend Yields Affect a Stock Price's Volatility? : Does the Miller & Modigliani Theroem apply to the Euronext and London Stock Exchange?

    University essay from Högskolan i Jönköping/IHH, Nationalekonomi

    Author : Joe Hoffmann; Nicholas Marriott; [2019]
    Keywords : Dividend Yield; Stock Price Volatility; Bird in Hand Theory; BIHH; Miller Modigliani; MM Theorem; LSE; Euronext; FTSE; Euronext-100;

    Abstract : Background: Investors around the globe have debated, for more than 40 years, about whether the dividend yield has an influence on a stock’s price or not. There are different theories supporting both sides. These theories, however, often simplify the real world and therefore may not apply fully. READ MORE

  5. 10. Characterization and Modeling of mm-Wave Power Amplifiers

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Author : Victor Hasselfors; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The next generation of mobile communication (5G) is upon us, and with that newtypes of technologies are needed for improved data rates, reliability, response timeand increased utilization. In this report, two highly efficient linear power amplifiersare characterized and tested with simulated communication signals. READ MORE
