  1. 1. Memory Cost of Quantum Contextuality

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Informationskodning

    Author : Patrik Harrysson; [2016]
    Keywords : Quantum mechanics; quantum contextuality; contextuality; memory cost; finite-state machine;

    Abstract : This is a study taking an information theoretic approach toward quantum contextuality. The approach is that of using the memory complexity of finite-state machines to quantify quantum contextuality. These machines simulate the outcome behaviour of sequential measurements on systems of quantum bits as predicted by quantum mechanics. READ MORE

  2. 2. Covering the sphere with noncontextuality inequalities

    University essay from Matematik och tillämpad matematik; Tekniska högskolan

    Author : Sven-Patrik Hallsjö; [2013]
    Keywords : noncontextuality; mathematics; quantum mechanics; bloch sphere;

    Abstract : In this Bachelor’s thesis the following question is answered: Does the inequality posed in the article Klyachko et al [2008] cover the real part of the Bloch surface of a 3D quantum system when used as in Kochen and Specker [1967]? The Klyachko inequality relies on using five measurements to show contextuality of a subset of states on the real part of the Bloch surface. These can now be used in several configurations as present in the Kochen-Specker contextuality proof, by simply rotating the measurements. READ MORE
