  1. 1. Insulation diagnostics of stator bars

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Alexandra Garðarsdóttir; [2022]
    Keywords : Electrical insulation system; Stator bars; Insulation testing; Rotating machines; Partial discharges; Acoustic detection; Dielectric response analysis; Break-down test; Tap test; Elektriskt isoleringssystem; Statorstavar; Isolationsprovning; Roterande maskiner; Partiell urladdning; Akustisk detektering; Dielektrisk responsanalys; Nedbrytningstest; Taptest;

    Abstract : Insulation in rotating machines is a common cause for failure. Therefore, research in the area is large and is important to further increase the knowledge of the phenomena related to insulation degradation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Design and Optimization of an IE44-pole 7.5 kW Induction Motor

    University essay from KTH/Elektrisk energiomvandling

    Author : ALBERTO RODRIGUEZ GALLEGO; [2014]
    Keywords : induction motor; IE4; Super Premium Efficiency;

    Abstract : In this thesis, a High Efficiency (IE2), 7.5 kW, 4-pole, induction motor (IM) is studied and redesigned using finite element method (FEM) software with the purpose of increasing its efficiency to the new Super Premium Efficiency (IE4) level. First, a pre-existing model of the motor is analyzed and improved. READ MORE

  3. 3. Performance Analysis of Unskewed Asymmetrical Rotor for LV Induction Motors

    University essay from KTH/Elektrisk energiomvandling

    Author : Usman Shaukat; [2012]
    Keywords : Induction motor; skewed rotor; inter-bar currents; starting performance; asymmetrical rotor slots; 2D FEM; synchronous torques.;

    Abstract : This master thesis presents a comparative analysis of the starting performance and losses at rated operation for a 15 kW, 4-pole industrial induction motor, mounted with standard skewed, unskewed and unskewed asymmetrical die-cast aluminium rotors through measurements and simulations. It is a well-known fact that rotor skewing suppresses the synchronous torques at low speeds and also reduces the audible noise of the machine. READ MORE
