    Abstract : The present master's thesis deals with numerical modeling of solid-state micrometrical-sized polymeric dye lasers, commonly denoted as microcavities. It is part of a large research initiative carried out in the optics group, at the MAP (Microelectronics and Applied Physics) department in KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan - Royal Technical School) and targeted towards the design and manufacturing of micro- and nano-scaled polymeric components for nano-photonics, primarily lasers.
