We should be men first and subjects afterward; copyright and the cultural divide

Abstract: This thesis investigates how monopolies enabled by copyright prevent many to exercise their right to access culture, a right that is important in itself, but also as an instrument for human development. Second part of the thesis will then focus on the question whether there are really all this advantages that copyright allegedly secures that always tip the scales of balance between different rights in copyright’s favour.
