Abstract: Nostratic AB is a company that develops Internet communities and digital communication for different platforms. They offer a service that allows clients to sell ring tones, pictures and games for mobile phones on their own homepages. This system, however, required the clients to contact Nostratic whenever an update of the content of their web shops was needed. Therefore Nostratic wished to develop a new web shop, created in Macromedia Flash, which would allow the clients to conduct these updates themselves. This degree project was conducted with a focus on usability engineering and because that includes so many different aspects, not all of them could be applied. By developing the interface through multiple iterations you constantly try to find and correct problems and errors. By doing so you aim to achieve as good usability as possible. Three iterations were conducted and in each one, a prototype was developed which was then tested and evaluated according to different usability engineering aspects. The result was a well working web shop in Macromedia Flash with dynamic content and web based administrative tools in PHP, JavaScript and MySQL.
