Abstract: Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis was previously considered a rare disease, but now the incidence and mortality of pulmonary fibrosis are increasing.Epidemiological studies have shown that the prevalence of the disesse has increased yearby year in the past 20 to 30 years. In terms of sex ratio, men are more likely to get sick, and the prevalence of smokers (or those who have smoked for more than 20 years)increases. Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis have many different experiences.Nurses provide care and guidance to patients. After understanding the differentexperiences of patients, their situation is evaluated and interventions are implemented todelay the development of the disease, reduce the suffering of patients, improve the qualityof life of patients, and prolong the life of patients.Aim: The aim of the study was to describe the experiences of patients with idiopathicpulmonary fibrosis. Methods: PubMed database was used to search articles in the last ten years, and matrix’swas used to screen the articles. According to the study purpose, ten articles were selected, classified, and summarized objectively. Results: The experiences of the patients living with the disease were divided into fourcategories: ①Difficulties in diagnosis and information acquisition; ②Differenttreatment experiences and preparations; ③Negative experiences of the disease; ④Options for continued treatment. Conclusion: By understanding the nursing needs of the patients, the nurses can betterdevelop the appropriate nursing plan for them, and more effectively improve the qualityof life of the patients. Instructing patients on how to self-manage the disease and slow itsprogression and at the same time, understanding the needs of patients can also play a rolein the future research objectives and directions.Key words: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Life, Experience, patients
