Ways of seeing nature : Landscape as a medium

Abstract: This study has revolved around the relationship between humans and nature. Its starting point was a plan to remediate antique ways of depicting landscape and nature, connected to theories about perceptual and conceptual depictions. Views of nature and their effect on stress levels are today studied in healthcare settings together with emotional state. The study aimed to investigate people's preference for different styles of images depicting nature (perceptual and conceptual style) and how or if they can vary with the context.
